installing mysql5 with php5 on Ubuntu for WordPress
You need to install php5-mysql.
And then don’t forget to restart Apache. Just reloading won’t work.

That is the quick way to do it – not sure if there are other dependencies to watch out for… Will work. Also, if you want a good way to manage your LAMP setup, check out webmin.. works a treat
